HWSC Teams Enjoy a Successfull Destin Tournament!

The Freedom 06 Girls coached by Crystal Pate finished as champions for the U11 Girls Gold Division at the Destin Soccer Rodeo. The girls won both of their matches on Saturday by a combined score of 8-2 and then advanced to semi finals on Sunday morning where they defeated a team out of Gulf Breeze Florida 2-0. The championship match was by far their toughest of the weekend and it ultimately came to extra time where the girls were able to win 1-0. Great work ladies!
The Freedom 04 Girls coached by Sean Gibson finished as Finalists for the U13 Girls Gold Division. The girls competed well at their second tournament of the season advancing from group play to the semi finals after a 4-0 win and a 2-2 draw with a strong team out of Auburn. On Sunday the girls won their semi final match against a team from Bay Side 1-0 which set up a rematch in the final versus the Auburn team. This time the match wouldn't end in a draw and Auburn advanced as champions with a 2-0 win. Gibson's girls will look to bounce back quickly as they get a chance for revenge against Auburn this coming weekend as they host Auburn in a state league match!
