HWSC Teams Tear it up at Fairhope Tournament!

We sent three teams down to the 11th Annual Fairhope Halloween Blast and walked away with 2 Finalists and 1 Champion!
The Eagles 05 Boys coached by Matt Sullivan finished as tournament Finalists in the top U12 Boys Division. Having previously finished as Finalists at the Birmingham BASH the boys were really looking forward to continue their success. The boys started out the tournament with a 1-0 victory before falling to a strong team from Dothan, AL 3-0. This set up a semi final match up with a strong team out of Mississippi. The boys rallied and won 3 to 2 to advance to the Championship where they got another shot at taking on Dothan. The boys showed a bunch of improvement from their first bout with Dothan but ultimately fell 4-2.
The Freedom 05 Girls coached by Mindy McBride strolled down and walked away as Champions for the most competitive U12 Girls Division. The girls opened up with a tough 3-2 victory over a strong Gulf Coast Texans team. They followed this win up with another victory as they cruised past a team from Mississippi 5-0. The Gulf Coast Texans wouldn't go away just yet and advanced via a semi final match to face off against our girls one last time to try and settle the score. Our girls held strong and won 2-0 in the final!
