A collaboration of youth soccer clubs has come together to form Alabama Pride Soccer - the newest member in the National Premier League. Participating members include, Briarwood, Homewood, Hoover, Trussville, and Vestavia, with more partnerships in the works. The mission of the Pride is to change the competitive landscape of soccer for the elite player in the state by working together.
The National Premier League is one of the top youth soccer platforms, and a member of US Club Soccer. Starting fall 2017, Alabama Pride Soccer will compete in the Gulf States Premier Division of the NPL.
Alabama Pride Soccer will be available to players from all clubs in the state. Selected players will participate in the NPL fixtures and showcases, but will still be eligible to play in the Alabama Soccer Association state league with their parent club. Training and game schedules will be coordinated amongst clubs to minimize conflicts, and allow for the best soccer environment possible.
Alabama Pride Soccer will field boys and girls teams in the U-13 (05) thru U-19 (99) age groups. The coaching staff will be announced this spring, with top local coaches from the participating clubs making up the staff. Specific teams, staffing, and tryout times will be available prior to the May tryouts. All interested players must register on-line for tryouts - there is no charge.
Training will be weekly on Wednesday nights. Participating clubs have agreed to schedule their training around this schedule. The Pride has also partnered with some great college coaches, who will attend training as guest clinicians. Training will begin in June, and continues every Wednesday through December.
There will be five Alabama Pride Soccer Informational Meetings, one at each member club, scheduled for this spring - to explain the program and answer any questions. Please visit www.alabamapridesoccer.com for more information.
